Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy
When I was trying to read the Bane Chronicles, I think this format is so much more of what I wanted. TFSA is the modern journey of Simon and the Shadow Hunter Academy while we also have flashbacks from various characters. It feels like a novel told through short stories. Each flashback feels like it has a place and a purpose as opposed to the Magnus book. Don't get me wrong, I love Magnus and I want to learn more about him but the stories didn't feel relevant. Why am I supposed to care about these particular moments in time, you know?
